Over his legal career, Jack has represented numerous buyers and sellers in business acquisition transactions, and his hands-on approach, coupled with his extensive knowledge and experience, has made it possible for the firm to enjoy a nationwide mergers and acquisitions practice.

In addition, Jack regularly advises clients on a broad range of corporate matters from entity selection to key employee, incentive compensation, employee benefits and buy-sell arrangements to business succession plans for the business entities and their owners

Jack’s recent writings include his articles entitled “The Taxation of Earnouts in Taxable Acquisitions,” “Goodwill as Part of a Corporate Asset Sale,” “Selling to an ESOP in a Tax-Free Transaction,” “Buying and Selling C Corporation Stock,” “Corporate Acquisition Transactions Effect on Retirement Plans,” and “Mergers and Acquisitions During the COVID-19 Pandemic.”

As an experienced estates and trusts attorney, Jack also represents owners of family owned businesses and he performs significant estate planning for high net-worth individuals and families.

And, as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Cumberland School of Law, Jack has taught Mergers and Acquisitions, Business Planning, Accounting for Lawyers, Advanced Estate and Gift Taxation; and Decedents’ Trusts and Estates.
