Sarah Payne Thomson advises clients on estate and trust planning and a broad range of business matters, including assisting clients in business formation and planning, financing, and representing shareholders and business owners in negotiating the purchase and/or sell of ownership interest. She also serves small business and closely held corporation clients in contract drafting, as well as assisting clients in structuring business and real estate transactions. Sarah’s estate and trust practice includes drafting documents to: Reduce, defer and where possible eliminate federal estate tax liability; Protect family assets threatened by issues such as heirs with dependency, creditor or immaturity problems; Provide for beneficiaries with special needs, while protecting their entitlement to government benefits; and Arrange for appropriate provisions for children from multiple marriages. Sarah is a Birmingham native and joined Leitman, Siegal & Payne, P.C. after graduating from Cumberland School of Law in 2009. Prior to law school, she received a B.A. in Art History from Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C.
